The Yellow Sign story alone is worth it, creepy as hell. The way Chambers builds atmosphear is amazing but some of the later stories drag a bit. The play-within-the-book concept is genius, it really gets under your skin. Wish there was more about Carcosa though!

I can see why H.P. Lovecraft was so influensed by this. The Repairer of Reputations is my favorite, its like a vision of the future that never happened. Nice EPUB format works great on my Kobo. Only thing is the middle stories are more romance than horror so thats a bit jarring.

Honestly this is one of the most importaint collections of weird fiction ever published. The first four stories are absolutly masterful, the Paris stories at the end are more conventional but still well written. The quality of this edition is great, no complaints about formatting.

Bit of a mixed bag really. The first half is incredible cosmic horror then it turns into a bunch of love stories set in Paris which was not what I was expecting at all. Still worth reading for The Yellow Sign and The Repairer of Reputations. The EPUB itself is fine I guess.

The Mask is absolutly chilling, I had to put my phone down after reading it at 2am. Chambers writes beautiful prose even when describing horrific things. The King in Yellow play fragments scattered through the book are so tantalizing. Would pay extra for a version that includes the complete play!

Great edition of a classic. The story order makes sence and the formatting is clean. I dock one star becuase some of the French phrases arent translated but I guess thats authentic to the original. Definitly recomend for anyone into weird fiction or cosmic horror.
