I cant believe I never knew about this book before. Its such an important piece of queer history and honestly the story holds up really well. Beebo Brinker is iconic. The formatting on this edition is gorgeous too.

Essential reading for anyone interested in LGBTQ+ literature. Bannon writes with surprising nuance for a pulp novel. The historical context alone makes this worth the price. My only complaint is that it ended too abruptly – but that is the original text, not the editions fault.

I read this for a womens studies class and it sparked some really good discussions. The way Bannon writes about identity and self-discovery is really powerful for a book from the 50s. Some parts are a bit melodramatic but that’s part of the charm I guess.
