   Absolutly chilling. I read this at night and had to sleep with the lights on. Sweeney Todd is so evil its almost comical but in a good way. The trapdoor barber chair is genius. The EPUB is well formatted exept I wish the chapters were numbered better because I got lost a couple times. Still, a must read for horror fans.

   You can really tell this was written as a serial because every chapter ends on a cliffhanger. Its addictive actually. The story is over the top in the best way. Mrs Lovett is more evil than Todd if you ask me. The only thing is the writing is a bit repeative in places but that was the style back then.

   Fasinating glimpse into Victorian penny dreadfuls. The story moves fast and the characters are memorable. Johanna is surprisingly competent for a female character from 1846. The pie shop scenes are genuinely disturbing. I docked a star because there are SO many chapters (178!) and some of them feel like filler. But the main plot is great.

   Look this is not high literature but its entertaining if you like over-the-top melodrama. The writing is pulpy and the coincidences are ridiculus. People show up at exactly the right moment way too often. But for what it is (a penny serial) its a fun read. The EPUB looks nice and clean. I wish the price was a bit lower for a public domain book though.

   I was sceptical at first because I usualy read more refined literature but this hooked me from page one. The atmosphere is amazing and you can almost smell the London streets. The trapdoor scenes are so tense. I loved how all the plot threads come together at the end. Highly recomend for anyone who likes dark historical fiction.
