E. M. Forster’s classic novel of love, self-discovery, and the clash between convention and passion in Edwardian England and sun-drenched Italy.
Description
E. M. Forster’s A Room with a View (1908) is a witty comedy of manners and a poignant romance. Set in Florence and rural England, it follows young Lucy Honeychurch as she navigates the tensions between social propriety and genuine emotion, between the stifling conventions of Edwardian England and the liberating warmth of Italy.

Forster’s wit and warmth shine through in this beautifully formatted edition. Lucy Honeychurch’s journey from prim English girl to woman who follows her heart is as charming today as it was in 1908. The chapter navigation is excellent and the typography is a pleasure to read.

A delightful novel given the care it deserves. The two-part structure with Part One in Florence and Part Two in Surrey is clearly delineated, and the table of contents makes jumping between chapters easy. Forster’s dialogue is some of the best in English literature.

I’ve read this book three times and this is the best digital edition I’ve found. The PDF is perfect for printing passages for my book club, and the EPUB works flawlessly on my Kobo. The cover art is gorgeous. Highly recommended.
