I read this story as a child and this beautiful edition brought it all back. The formatting is clean, the chapters are well-structured, and the EPUB renders perfectly on my Kobo. Nello and Patrasche’s story is just as heartbreaking as I remembered. A must-have for anyone who loves classic children’s literature.

A lovely edition of a timeless story. The foreword provides helpful context about Ouida and the Victorian animal-story tradition, and the author biography is a nice touch. The PDF print-ready version is great for reading aloud with my kids. Only wish there were illustrations, but for $3.99 this is excellent value.

Bought this for my 10-year-old who had to read it for a school project. She finished it in two days and cried at the ending. The clean typography and proper chapter breaks made it easy for her to follow along. The AZW3 works perfectly on her Kindle. Highly recommended.
